Water For the Garden ? Use waste water from the Kitchen and Bathroom

90% of the water you use at Home is used for bathing at the Bathroom & washing / cleaning at the Kitchen. Do you know this can be reused by Recycling or used again for the Gardening with a Minimal effort.?

Yes. It is simple. Small effort at the time of building your Bathroom and Kitchen could save half of your Water Bill.

Exactly my thought, using waste water will reduce Electric bills as the water motor would run less.

Check whether you Water supply lines, tools have unseen leaks by closing all the Water Taps and other using tools and checking whether the Meter is stopped or running. If the meter running you have to repair your system or it could be fault with the meter (very rarely though)
If your supply water pressure is high, just adjust it using open / close Ball Joint close to the water meter, this saves lot of water wastage.
Use washed water / bathroom water for your garden
Use hose and sprinkler to water your plants, you can make a small sprinkler at home easily
Take a shower not a bath
Try to Fix the water meter in a clearly visual place and keep the targeted Meter No marked close by to immediately identify used no of Units at any given time.
Wash your Plates, Utencils in a Bucket or Basin after all cooking / feeding over at once
Display water saving remarks wherever appropriate
If you find your toilet flushing device using much water than needed while flushing, reduce the size of Flush tank. You could fill op something inside to suit the volume of water inside
Collect rainwater and used them for garden / washing

Use Cookware which heat up soon
Cook with closed Lids wherever appropriate
Use the right size of Cookware, pots for each item, Bigger the Pot more Gas needed

If 2 type of rice needed to be cooked for the same meal, put the smaller quantity inside main cooker with a enclosure

· Make power off fully using Off Button in the Equipment or using power plug switch off option- Remote Control switch off on Electronics is a temporary option and Power is still used to keep the machine standby.

· Keep Refrigerator at a cool dry and air circulating place with enough back space for the Hot air to go away.

· Don’t switch off and on Refrigerators often, it may increase power usage than reduce

· Don’t keep hot items inside the Fridge /Freezer, keep it once cooled down

· If you are not using ICE often, keep the Ice makers away from the Freezer

· Use CFL bulbs instead of normal incandescent bulbs

· Don’t Switch off your CFL lights, if for a short period

· Try to use adjustable Switches for Lights

· While selecting curtaining for the House, slect light colored curtains

· Windows and Doors should be fixed facing West

· While heating Water, try heating a full of kettle once and keep the balance water in a Thermostat bottle

· Use Energy Efficient Electrical equipment. “Energy Star” logo is marked on such equipment

· Try to Buy LCD computer monitors instead of Old CRT Monitors

· If you use Washing machine, avoid hot water wash option

· Install a high-efficiency shower head. It will lower hot water use by up to almost 50 percent.
